Fishing for Success-YEA

FFS is a program that uses fishing and other related activities as the “hook” to introduce children of all ages to the various aspects of fishing and everything involved with it. Children learn about fisheries, aquatic environments, and vocational/educational opportunities associated with fishing.

The current program began in 1998, and has since expanded to meet the needs of the 4-H community. The Fishing For Success program, in partnership with the University of Florida, was introduced in Broward County in 2005 to the delight of many residents.

Fishing For Success programs are usually one-day events that allow both the children and their families the opportunities to fish at local waterways. Past FFS events have taken place at Lake Charleston, Hollywood North Beach Park, and the dedicated University of Florida Recreation Ponds in Davie, Florida.
